We plan, organise and conduct Outreach activities, Training sessions and Astronomical Research Support for enthusiasts, School/College and Graduate Students.
THE ASTRONOMICAL SOCIETY FOR TRAINING, RESEARCH AND OUTREACH (ASTRO) organized an Observational Astronomy Outreach Interaction and Telescope Observations in collaboration with The Heartfulness Learning Centre in Kanha Village on February 7, 8, and 9, 2025. This event included interactions with students, followed by telescope assembly and stargazing. The program was well-attended by both students and staff.
It was a delight to engage with the enthusiastic kids and answer their questions. ASTRO would like to extend special thanks to Assistant Professor Anu Joy from TISS for her participation in the event, which contributed to its success. We also appreciate the support of the Principal, the Academic Advisor, and the other staff members throughout this initiative.

The program involved interaction with the public regarding misconceptions about Planetary Alignment/Parade, followed by telescopic observations.
The participants initially looked at the Sun and its Sunspots just before sunset. Some were amazed to see the Sunspots for the first time. They were given star charts to examine the sky and identify planets and other celestial bodies.
After dusk, Venus, Saturn, Jupiter, and Mars are visible. The telescopes are set for planetary observations. The public is enthralled to see the planets, especially the phasing of Venus, Saturn's rings and moon Titan, the Galilean moons of Jupiter, and the Giant Red Spot of Jupiter. The session ended seeing the Orion Nebula. The program was well-attended.
We had the opportunity to interact with hundreds of people during the Astronomy Outreach Awareness Program conducted by THE ASTRONOMICAL SOCIETY FOR TRAINING RESEARCH AND OUTREACH (ASTRO) in association with Surya The Global School on January 10, 2025, at Bachupally Campus. The program involved interaction with the students and their parents, followed by the Solar Observations session. It was well attended, and many were amazed by the Sunspots. The ASTRO community appreciates and thanks the school's management for encouraging Outreach events and programs that benefit the students.
